Candied pumpkin without cooking in the oven

Making homemade candied fruits is easy and simple. They turn out to be simply gorgeous, mouth-watering and healthy. They can be served for dessert or added to cereals or baked goods! Simply delicious!

We wash the pumpkin, cut it into halves and clean out the seeds, then cut off the peel from it.

Now we will cut the pulp into squares of about 1 by 1 cm.

Put the pumpkin pieces in a saucepan, cover them with granulated sugar and leave for 5-6 hours. During this time, their pumpkins will release a sufficient amount of juice.

Add citric acid, cornstarch, nutmeg and cinnamon. We send the pan to the fire and cook until the pumpkin becomes soft. This will take 5 to 15 minutes, depending on your stove, the size of the pumpkin and the pot in which you cook it. It is also very important not to digest it.

Drain the syrup into a bowl through a colander. We put it back on the stove and cook after boiling for 7 minutes.

Pour the pumpkin with the prepared syrup and leave it to cool completely. Then we drain and boil the syrup again, pour in their pumpkin pieces and wait for it to cool. Now we drain the syrup. Put the pumpkin on a baking sheet on baking paper and send it to an oven preheated to 100 degrees.
