Strawberries in their own juice without sterilization for the winter

To prepare strawberries in their own juice without sterilization, it is important to observe a few points. Firstly, we choose only ripe, high-quality berries, without the slightest defects. Secondly, we pay the utmost attention to sterilization of cans and lids. Thirdly, we add citric acid - it will not affect the taste of strawberries, but it will act as a preservative.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
We sort out the strawberries: we select only ripe and high-quality berries, since fruits with green leaves will not give the required amount of juice, and any defect is a potential source of damage to the workpiece. We cut off the sepals, and rinse the berries in running water.
step 2 out of 6
Place the prepared strawberries in a dry clean basin and pour boiling water over it. We stand for two minutes and drain all the liquid.
step 3 out of 6
Pour the processed berries evenly with granulated sugar and close the basin with a lid. We leave in a cool place for six to seven hours.
step 4 out of 6
After the specified time, the strawberries will release a noticeable amount of juice. Add citric acid to it and mix very carefully so as not to damage the berries.
step 5 out of 6
Wash jars and lids and sterilize in any available way. Let the container dry completely. Put strawberries without juice in prepared jars. Bring the juice remaining in the basin to a boil and pour the berries in jars with it to the top. Screw on the lids immediately.
step 6 out of 6
We put the cooled jars with strawberries in a cool dark place for storage.
Bon Appetit!
