Blackcurrant and gooseberry compote in a 3-liter jar for the winter

The drink contains a large amount of vitamins useful for the human body, especially vitamin C. Compote of currants and gooseberries is the best way to strengthen immunity in winter.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
We measure out the required amount of berries for making compote. First, they need to be rinsed, immediately throwing them into a colander so that excess liquid drains. Then we sort out the dried berries, simultaneously removing twigs, leaves and "tails".
step 2 out of 6
We choose a 3-liter jar suitable for seaming compote. If there is no external damage, we clean it with a soda solution. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. When the jar is dry, we sterilize it, but this step is optional. We subject the lid to heat treatment in boiling water. Or we sterilize together with the jar in the oven. We spread a layer of gooseberries on the bottom of the jar.
step 3 out of 6
Spread a layer of black currant on top of the gooseberry. We try to do everything carefully, without squeezing the berries with our hands too much.
step 4 out of 6
We will not make syrup with water and sugar. That is unnecessary. If you put sugar in a jar and pour boiling water over the berries, the compote will be stored for a long time.
step 5 out of 6
We put a pot of cold water on the stove. When the liquid boils, pour it into the jar along with the rest of the ingredients.
step 6 out of 6
Now we roll up the can and turn it over to check if the juice is leaking out. We put the container upside down and wrap it up.
Bon Appetit!
