Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
First, you need to prepare all the ingredients for rolling compote for the winter and put them on the cutting surface.
step 2 out of 8
Wash the gooseberries thoroughly and remove the tails if desired. In general, they can not be removed - the finished compote will still need to be filtered before use. Place the berries in a clean, sterile jar.
step 3 out of 8
Then put the mint leaves washed in running water in a jar to the gooseberries.
step 4 out of 8
The next step is to add granulated sugar and lemon or lime wedges along with the peel to the jar. You can pre-pour boiling water over the citrus to kill the microbes on the surface of the fruit rind.
step 5 out of 8
Pour boiling water over the jar with ingredients for "Mojito" and cover with a lid. Leave the jar in this state for ten or fifteen minutes.
step 6 out of 8
After the allotted time, carefully drain the infusion from the jar into the pan, filtering it with a sieve or specially a lid with holes. Bring the liquid to a boil in a saucepan.
step 7 out of 8
Pour the boiling compote back into the jar with gooseberries and lemon and mint.
step 8 out of 8
Quickly screw the jar of compote with sterile lids or roll up. Cool the jar with the blank in a "fur coat", then put it in a cellar or closet for storage.
