Gooseberry compote in a 3-liter jar

When there is no more space in the freezer to store berries and fruits, you can prepare gooseberries for the winter in the form of a compote. It is convenient to do this in 3-liter jars, so that there is enough for the whole family and guests. Berries of different colors are suitable for compote, but housewives prefer green gooseberries for this drink. It is important that it is tight and intact. Gooseberry compote is prepared by the method of 2-fold filling.

Sort out gooseberries from small debris and rinse under running water. Then dry them on a kitchen towel.

Then, with small scissors, remove the inflorescences and stalks from the berries. Pour the prepared gooseberries into a clean jar. Pour boiling water over the gooseberries. Cover the jar with a boiled lid and leave for 10 minutes.

After this time, pour the water from the jar with gooseberries into a saucepan, boil again and pour the berries for 10 minutes.

After refilling, pour the water back into a saucepan and boil the sugar syrup on it. Boil the syrup for a couple of minutes.
