Raspberry and gooseberry compote

Cooking jam is a long enough process to save time, but to preserve the beneficial properties of berries, make compotes for the winter. For example, from raspberries and gooseberries, you will get a delicious, rich drink with a beautiful color.

First, sort out the raspberries from debris and twigs, fill them with water, then carefully drain the water from the berries through a colander.

Sort out the gooseberries, tear off the tails and wash, dry the berries on paper towels. To prevent the gooseberries from deforming during heat treatment, pierce each berry with a needle.

Wash compote jars with some kind of cleaning agent and sterilize them. Boil the lids. Put the gooseberries on the bottom of clean jars, then raspberries, cover the berries with sugar.

Pour water into a saucepan, bring it to a boil. Pour boiling water over the jars and immediately roll them up with lids. Put the jars to cool upside down, cover them with a warm blanket. Store seaming in a cool place after cooling.
