Lard in brine under an iron lid

Homemade salted lard is an amazing dish that absolutely everyone loves. I just want to prepare it for the winter in order to enjoy the incredible taste. Cooking is very simple, the main thing is to observe the proportions so as not to oversalt. The fat turns out to be excellent!

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
We wash the bacon and cut it into cubes.
step 2 out of 5
Add salt, black peppercorns, bay leaf to the water and put on fire and bring to a boil.
step 3 out of 5
Peel and divide the garlic into wedges.
step 4 out of 5
Fold lard and garlic and fill with brine, roll up with an iron lid.
step 5 out of 5
Leave to cool for 24 hours at room temperature. Then we put it in a cold place for storage.

Bon Appetit!
