Lingonberry sauce like in Ikea for the winter

Surely, many have tried the signature Swedish lingonberry sauce at the IKEA restaurant. Many people liked it. This sauce is prepared using the "silt" technology, that is, like lingonberry jam, only with a small amount of sugar and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, wine or cognac). The spice-free sauce is prepared for dessert. At home, such a sauce can be prepared for the winter quickly and easily.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 10
For the sauce, choose high-quality lingonberries and precisely a rich red color, since unripe berries will not make the sauce tasty. Clean it from small debris and rinse well.
step 2 out of 10
Measure out the amount of ingredients indicated in the recipe before preparing the sauce.
step 3 out of 10
Pour the prepared lingonberries into a saucepan for cooking jam and chop them to puree with an immersion blender or ordinary potato crush.
step 4 out of 10
Place a saucepan with chopped lingonberries over medium heat, add the calculated amount of sugar to it and stir to completely dissolve the sugar.
step 5 out of 10
Cook the sauce for 10 minutes from the beginning of the boil and over low heat, while stirring constantly with a spoon so as not to burn. At the end of cooking, add ground pepper or other spices of your choice to the sauce.
step 6 out of 10
After this time, pour the sauce onto a sieve.
step 7 out of 10
Then rub it with a spoon on a sieve to remove dense pieces of berry rind. You can skip this step, but without the peel, the sauce will be more tender.
step 8 out of 10
Then pour the sauce into the same saucepan and cook again for 10 minutes over low heat.
step 9 out of 10
After the second boil, the consistency of the sauce will be thicker, so no other thickeners are added to this sauce.
step 10 out of 10
Swedish lingonberry sauce, as in IKEA is ready. Pour it hot into a dry sterile jar, seal it with a boiled lid and store in a cool place after cooling.
Happy and tasty preparations!
