Would you like to make a strawberry jam that retains the flavor of fresh strawberries, all the vitamins and benefits? Then use our recipe for making jam! Strawberries are not heat treated, you only cook syrup, with which you then mix the berries.

For making jam, you can take small strawberries, they are better marinated in syrup. Rinse the berries in a colander under running water and leave for 5-10 minutes to drain the water. Then we remove the stalks.

Prepare the syrup in a saucepan with a thick bottom. Pour sugar into a saucepan, add water and put on low heat. Do not forget to stir frequently so that the sugar does not stick to the bottom of the pan. Bring the syrup to a boil and boil over a minimum heat for 5-7 minutes. During this time, the syrup will thicken and darken. Remove the finished syrup from heat.

Put the strawberries in an enamel container and fill with hot syrup. Cover the container with a lid and leave it for several hours to cool the mass. During this time, the strawberries will release their juice, and the mass will become a little liquid.

After the jam has completely cooled down, the amount of liquid increased markedly. Pour it into a saucepan, bring to a boil, but do not boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Add the hot syrup to the berries again and leave to cool completely. We repeat this procedure 3-4 times, it all depends on how thick the syrup you want to get.

Put the finished hot jam in sterilized jars and close the lids tightly. Cover the jars with a terry towel and leave to cool completely.

We put the finished jam in the refrigerator, where it can be stored for several months.
