Large strawberry jam

Aromatic strawberry jam with whole berries is very popular in many families. In addition to the fact that strawberry jam, like the fresh berries themselves, is very tasty, it is also good for our body. Its use helps to strengthen immunity, increase the elasticity of the walls of blood vessels, normalize the genitourinary system and more.

For jam, select dense, ripe large berries without signs of spoilage. Wash and dry the strawberries.

Lay strawberries in layers in a large bowl, sprinkle the berries with sugar, leave for 10-12 hours to let the strawberry juice. Jam utensils should be copper or enamelled.

When the strawberries have released enough juice and the sugar is completely wet, put the container with berries on the fire. Boil the berry mass over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved, stir constantly with a wooden spoon and remove the foam from the surface.

Wash the lemons and squeeze the juice out of them.

Add lemon juice to the jam, stir, it will preserve the beautiful strawberry color and help thicken the syrup. Continue simmering the jam for another 4-5 minutes after boiling. Then remove the container from the heat, cover it with gauze or a clean, thin towel and leave for 6-8 hours.

After the allotted time, put the jam on the fire again, bring it to a boil, turn off the stove, cool the jam. Repeat this one or two more times. Boil the berries for the last time for another 5 minutes after boiling. Spread the strawberry jam in dry sterilized jars and roll up, leave for a day at room temperature, then put in a cool place.
